‘Ip Man 4 The Finale’, the final installment of the Wing Chun Grand Master movie series, is expecting to break past its RM 30 million Malaysian blockbuster record of Ip Man 3 in 2015, which will retain its series as the highest grossing Chinese film in Malaysian history. Ip Man 4, which will premiere on 20th December 2019 in Malaysia, is currently making headlines and social media buzz as Donnie Yen (甄子丹), Danny Chan (陳國坤), who plays the role of Bruce Lee, Producer Raymond Wong (黃百鳴)and scriptwriter Edmond Wong (黃子桓) is currently making visits in Kuala Lumpur & Petaling Jaya to meet their fans (11th & 12th December 2019).

In the mean time, Lotus Five Star in association with RAM Entertainment hosted a press conference, attended by industry VIPs and media players at St Regis Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 11th December 2019. The event was officiated by Lotus Five Star’s management: Datuk R. Doraisingam Pillai (Founder & CEO), Mr Garuna Murthee (Director) and Mr. Karthiik Doraisingam (CFO). The press conference allowed the Raymond Wong, Donnie Yen, Danny Chan and Edmond Wong to share their thrilling experiences and insights during the film shoot, while Malaysian sand artist, Loong Bee and his daughter, ‘Little Bee’ told a story of Ip Man classics through the ever-fluid sand art.

The final entry centers on Ip Man’s life after his wife’s death, however, his relationship with his son are slowly drifting apart. In the hopes of finding a better future for his son, he decides to travel to the US to search for proper schooling facility for him. Ip Man, however finds a great deal of racial discrimination where the Chinese are treated unfairly. Ip Man, with his strong martial arts integrity awakens once again, pushing the Grand Master to continue to take on the responsibility of a martial artist to fight for equal rights for his brethren.

The Ip Man franchise features some of the most memorable and touching entries where the first episode dived deep into the topic of “survival”, the second episode highlighted about “life”, the third on “living” – coming into a full circle on exploring into “father-son relationship” with the final instalment. Wilson Yip, who directed all four Ip Man movies, commented “Ip Man has always been the voice of righteousness – he is bound by the duty to fight against injustice and this has never changed. The final movie highlights the notion which anywhere could be a great place for a person to live on if he / she stays resilient, independent and persevere through hard times.”

Speaking at a movie promo tour in Beijing, the 56-year old Hong Kong icon, Donnie Yen confirmed Ip Man 4 The Finale will be his final Kung Fu film. “As an actor, you must keep going forward to explore and grow. That, to me, is the true meaning of life.”
